You are an international student if you are not an Australian or New Zealand citizen, and not a permanent resident of Australia.

International research students should apply directly to the Graduate Research School.
If you’re currently completing the HSC, IB or NCEA Level 3, you need to apply through UAC International.

Fees and costs
To apply to Western, you must be able to cover all costs for you and any family members travelling with you. This includes tuition fees, living expenses, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), student services amenities fees, school costs for any school-aged dependents and travel costs.
After you apply
If your application is successful, you’ll be emailed an Offer of Admission from Western or UAC. This will tell you which course you’ve been accepted into, the fees, and your start date.If you do not meet our entry requirements, your application will be automatically assessed for a suitable pathway program offered by The College.
If you satisfy all the entry criteria, you will receive an unconditional offer. If you do not satisfy all the entry criteria, you will receive either a Packaged Pathway Offer or a Conditional Offer indicating the entry criteria that you need to satisfy. Check out the terms and conditions here.
Your fees can be paid by:
- International Telegraphic Transfer via Western Union Business Solutions.
- Credit card via the university's online payment system, Onestop.

You must obtain a student visa before you come to study in Australia. Once the acceptance forms and payment have been received, we will issue you an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE). You must then use the eCoE to apply for your student visa.

Once you’ve accepted your offer, paid your fees and received your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment, you can enrol and select your units and timetable at MyStudentRecords (MySR). This can be done in three easy steps.
- Activate your account.
- Plan your enrolment, i.e. choose your units and apply for credit from previous studies.
